Tackling cities is difficult and luxurious. I can't afford to paint them but I love to engage the impossible and produce something that reflects my feelings about the place. Fundamentally, I am desperate to communicate a complete journey, where nothing is left out. This is why there is always an intensity of image.

I can take thousands of digital photographs from open-topped buses. I enjoy the randomness and lack of control I have when the bus goes off somewhere I don't want to go. This is a metaphor for life, as we are often taken where we have no wish to go. I see this life as a never-ending series of experiences in preparation for the next and I am driven not by sentiment but by love.
