Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens has always been an adventure for me. The walk through the different areas is like a journey across the globe. Every turn in the path opens up an exciting new vista to assault the senses. When I painted the canvas I wanted to include the iconic Edinburgh skyline.
A Grand Day Out (in Edinburgh). Prints are now available of the painting and there will be small originals of Polperro and Mevagissey harbours from our recent trip around the south coast. Drop in and say hello. Lots to see, and do, and eat!
Maggie, my wife, was keen for us to take the train from the brand new station at Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders, through to Edinburgh, and on to Mallaig to spend a couple of days on the west coast. I remember steam trains from when I was very small and marvelled at their massive bulk, hissing and whistling, with clouds of smoke billowing from their funnels.
