The
Valley of Unity
The Valley of Unity marks the transition from the temporal to the metaphysical; from the plane of limitation into that of the absolute. In his book, "The Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh", Adib Taherzadeh describes the condition thus: 'Here he (the wayfarer) no longer sees the world of creation subjectively, restricted by the limitations of his own eyes, but sees it objectively through the eyes of God.' Viewing the same scene, for example, through different coloured pieces of glass produces the effect of altering the scene for each piece of glass. Once the glass or limitation is removed, the true picture can be seen. The painting picks up the theme of the unity of creation; as if there are no individual parts but one indivisible whole. For this reason I have only hinted at forms and not deliberately defined them. |
