The
Valley of Wonderment
From the plane of contentment with his lot, the wayfarer now discovers the immensity of creation. He is struck dumb in wonder. One of the good things about being a painter is that you can play with the paint and create images that surprise you as you work. There is a form of 'dialogue' between you and the painting. As you work you instinctively respond to the painting. To create this image I used a burning candle and allowed the hot wax to drop and splash onto the painting. The wax created a mask for subsequent coats of paint. By scratching into the wax I was able to disdress the image. |
